Ruby Hannon

Trainee Community Arts Worker

Ruby is In Cahootz’s first-ever Trainee Arts Worker, where she works alongside the Creative Team. Ruby’s role is to support them during the activities for the Creative Citizens Project and Barrhead Drama. This allows Ruby to gain experience in Community Arts and to develop an opportunity for a career in this profession.

Ruby’s love for community drama stemmed from the opportunity of performing in In Cahootz Creative Citizens first show Pigeon in 2019. Since then, she continued to volunteer for the project and has performed in three productions as a supporting actor.

Ruby has been performing for 11 years, where she grew a passion for musical theatre and a love for music. She plays the guitar and in 2019, she opened Scotland’s first drug and alcohol-free concert, ‘Recovery Connects’ at Queen’s Park in Glasgow. This event was for delegates, recovery support workers and participants from all over Scotland.
