What We Do

In Cahootz was co-founded in 2010 by well-seasoned community arts workers, Kate Black and Phyllis Steel. We use the arts as the main tool to create a safe, nurturing, productive and creative environment, enabling us to put our core values into action.

What We Do

We aim to target and provide opportunities for marginalised people who have, for various reasons, found themselves excluded from society. The organisation’s ultimate aim is to achieve its vision of helping to build an empowered, creative and confident society.

These creative projects have been life-affirming and life-changing experiences for many of the participants.

Our core values are:

  • Nurturing potential
  • Showing respect
  • Being open and honest
  • Gaining trust
  • Achieving high standards in all that they do
  • Promoting inclusion and equality
